Bringing Istanbul's street food to Sydney.

Nestled amongst the busy and lively shops of Sydney, Eat Istanbul aims to bring the tantalising scents and flavours of Istanbul's iconic street food to the suburbs of Australia.

Walking into Eat Istanbul is an experience in itself; offering a traditional, yet relaxed, casual eating experience. The menu consists of authentic, fresh local ingredients and enticing flavours. The cosy seating area watches over an energetic, exposed stainless steel kitchen from which the smell of freshly-baked Turkish bread, gozleme, pide and wood fired succulent pieces of lamb and chicken waft out of.

Eat Istanbul is the brain-child of Istanbul-raised Ekrem Yildiz, who is quick to admit that it was his father who helped develop his passion for cooking, teaching him how to cook traditional Turkish cuisine from an early age.

“In Istanbul, countless street vendors fill the air with the smell of charcoal fires used to cook meats - and it's that atmosphere that I wanted to recreate here in Sydney.”
